Infection Control in the Age of Covid-19

Infection Control in the Age of Covid-19

Despite lingering patient concerns, it remains crucial to prioritize dental care, especially for individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Consistently neglecting dental care allows pathogens to continuously infiltrate the body, gradually weakening the immune system. Ensuring the health of your teeth is paramount for overall physical well-being.

The dental community is used to dealing with infection control. In the early 1980's the AIDS crisis appeared. Since then we have been using Universal Precautions. This means we have always treated everyone as if they have a communicable disease. We have always autoclaved (sterilized) all instruments and use disposables whenever possible. Hospital-grade disinfectants are used in the rooms after every appointment.

For the protection of all our patients and staff, we are requesting the following we recommend you cancel and reschedule your dental appointment you experience any of the following symptoms:

    • a cold or the flu
    • fever or nausea
    • severe headaches or body aches
    • muscle or stomach pain, chest pain, or difficulty breathing
    • vomiting or diarrhea
    • active tuberculosis (TB)
    • mumps, measles, chickenpox
    • other contagious diseases

With our longstanding infection control protocols and these additional precautions,

Your safety, as well as the safety of my staff, is of utmost importance. All of the measures we, and the dental community, have taken are keeping everyone as safe as possible I want to assure you that we prioritize your safety, as well as the safety of our staff.

If you still have reservations about receiving treatment, I understand entirely. Please don't hesitate to reach out and discuss any concerns. We are here to explain how we are diligently working to ensure the safety of all patients.
